President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo on Wednesday (25\/11) at the State Palace, Jakarta, handed over Budget Implementation List (DIPA) and List of Budget Allocation for Regional Governments and Village Funds 2021 for all ministries \/ institutions and regional governments.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, the President said that speed and accuracy must always become the characters of the Government\u2019s policies.<\/p>\n

For that reason, the Government in the 2021 State Budget focused on health management, social protection, economic recovery program, and structural reforms in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, he added.<\/p>\n

\u201c2020 has been a tough year. We must also face economic uncertainty in 2021. Speed and accuracy must always become the characters of the Government\u2019s policies both on health and economic sectors. We must recover immediately,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Budget allocated for health sector, he added, is mainly for COVID-19 management, including vaccination program. Thus, budget allocated for healthcare facilities, laboratory, and research and development is essential.<\/p>\n

On economic sector, budget for social protection program will be provided to disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. Meanwhile, economic recovery program will be focused on supporting the Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises and businesses.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn an effort to strengthen our foundation, we must undertake structural reforms on health, education, social protection sectors, and other sectors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The President went on to say that the Government in the 2021 State Budget has allocated Rp2,750 trillion or increased by 0.4 percent compared to that of last year.<\/p>\n

Budget allocated for ministries and institutions stood at Rp1,032 trillion, while Rp795.5 trillion is allocated for transfer to region and Village Funds.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will use the budget to support economic recovery and development priorities in various fields. Rp169.7 trillion is allocated for health sector, Rp550 trillion for education sector, Rp417.4 trillion for infrastructure, Rp408.8 trillion for social protection, Rp99 trillion for food security, Rp26 trillion for development of information and technology, and so on,\u201d he said.
