As part of his working visit to Bali Province, Special Staffer to the President Billy Mambrasar, on Sunday (29\/11), held a meeting with the Association of Papuan People and Students (IMMAPA) in Denpasar, Bali. On the meeting, he talked about the benefits of entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

“I once worked as an engineer at an oil and gas company, but I decided to leave. I thought that if I become an entrepreneur, I could create job opportunities for many people in Papua,” Billy said.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, Billy expressed his hopes that after graduating and receiving diploma, students can consider to become entrepreneurs. They should not only interested in taking part in CPNS (Civil Servants Candidates) recruitment.<\/p>\n

“From the last CPNS recruitment, 30,000 participants registered for 7,000 positions in Papua and West Papua, it means as many as 23,000 participants did not pass the test to become a civil servant. So, many of them are unemployed,” he said.<\/p>\n

He also expressed his concern if everyone wants to become a civil servant and no one provides job opportunities.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, Billy also mentioned about the Papua Muda Inspiratif (Inspiring Young Papua) movement. This movement aims to encourage Papuan and West Papuan youth to become entrepreneurs. He also called on the students attending the meeting to practice entrepreneurship. Hopefully, entrepreneurship trainings can be carried out in the upcoming meeting.<\/p>\n

According to Billy, he came to Bali to start a program that in Papuan terms known as ‘para-para’. “\u2019Para-para\u2018 means sitting together to have a conversation and support each other,” Billy said.<\/p>\n

The Presidential Staffer also cooperates with the Home Affairs Ministry’s Directorate General of Regional Autonomy to give assistance in developing Papua and West Papua Provinces.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the Head of Sub-Directorate for Papua and West Papua Provinces of Home Affairs Ministry Budi Arwan handed over 100 staple food packages, a computer, a printer, a desk, and a bookshelf to the IMMAPA-Bali. The assistance is expected to increase the enthusiasm of students studying in Bali<\/p>\n

“We hope the assistance can help you to increase your enthusiasm in studying so all of you can be a useful person for many people,” Budi said.<\/p>\n

In addition to the assistance, Billy also provided another assistance in the form of wireless internet network installment at the IMMAPA-Bali men’s and women’s dormitory.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Chairman of the IMMAPA-Bali Vladimir Yohan expressed his appreciation for the visit of the Presidential Staffer and representatives from Home Affairs Ministry’s Directorate General of Regional Autonomy.<\/p>\n
