President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, on Friday (4\/12), ceremonially launched exports of Indonesian products to the global market.<\/p>\n

“By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim<\/em>, I will inaugurate the launching of value-added and competitive exports (products) from our country, Indonesia, to the global market today,” the President said virtually from the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java.<\/p>\n

For the record, the launching was held in Lamongan, East Java. This event showed the Government\u2019s concrete efforts to increase non-oil and gas exports during the pandemic and to rebuild the national economy next year.<\/p>\n

“One of the keys to improving the national economy is by increasing exports. Not only to help business actors grow and create jobs but also to generate foreign exchange and reduce our current account deficit,” the President said.<\/p>\n

The President also reminded that this kind of export activity should not only become a ceremonial activity but instead should be used as a sustainable momentum to increase Indonesia’s exports.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in his report, Minister of Trade Agus Suparmanto said that the event was attended by a total of 133 companies from 16 provinces, including 79 companies in the non-SME category and 54 companies in the SME category with an export value of US$1.64 billion.<\/p>\n

Out of the 79 non-SME companies, one company succeeded in conducting its initial export and seven other companies succeeded in diversifying new products. Meanwhile, 71 other companies are companies that regularly export. The total export value of 79 non-SME companies reached Rp23.48 trillion.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, export value for the 54 SMEs reached Rp178.15 billion. Seven SMEs succeeded in carrying out their initial exports and eleven SMEs were recorded as having successfully diversified their products. The remaining 36 SMEs have routinely exported their products.<\/p>\n

The export destinations of these products include the US, Australia, Europe (Germany, Netherlands, Russia, England, Spain), Asia (China, Japan, India, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan), and Latin America (Chile, Mexico, Canada, Brazil).<\/p>\n

“Ministry of Trade will continue to strive so that more and more SMEs and business actors can successfully diversify export products to increase the competitiveness of export products,” the Minister said.<\/p>\n

The Ministry has also facilitated export financing activities for 14 SMEs worth Rp167 billion in total.<\/p>\n
