The Indonesian Government has issued 584,407 land certificates to recipients in 26 provinces and 273 regencies\/municipalities.<\/p>\n

“The handover of these certificates is a commitment, which I have repeatedly stated, the Government’s commitment to accelerate land certification across the country,” President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said during the handover of land certificates at the State Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (05\/01).<\/p>\n

As the certificates are proof of legal certainty over the ownership of their lands, the President asked the people to carefully store their certificates. “Keep the original certificate and its copy in different storages, so that if the (original one) is lost, we can replace it faster using the copy,” he said.<\/p>\n

For the record, 30 certificate recipients from West Java and Banten Provinces were present at the Palace after a series of health checks.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning\/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR\/BPN) Sofyan Djalil, in his reports, revealed that through the PTSL (Comprehensive Systematic Land Registration) program, 5.4 million land certificates were issued in 2017, 9.3 million in 2018, and 11.2 million in 2019.<\/p>\n

“Due to COVID-19 and budget refocusing, in 2020, (certificates) of 6.8 million parcels of (land) were issued,” the Minister said.<\/p>\n

In his report, the Ministry has also carried out digital transformation in some land services such as online services to check on the authenticity of land certificates, mortgage rights, hypothec cancellation, and land value zone information.<\/p>\n

“This digitalization minimizes disputes, prevents land mafia practices and overlapping certificates, as well as cuts the red-tape of bureaucracy,” he said.<\/p>\n

In addition, this year the BPN will launch an e-certificate. “We are currently preparing various infrastructure to support the implementation of digital services, such as validating land books, letters, and compiling various regulations related to electronic certificates,” he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, to increase investment, Sofyan said, the Ministry encourages the provision of a detailed spatial plan (RDTR) which is currently also based on electronics. “All new RDTRs must be based on electronics and published in the Geospatial Information System,” he stated.<\/p>\n

In an effort to support the national strategic project (PSN), the BPN has acquired 42,658 hectares of land for PSN projects.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Ministry is also committed to preventing and eradicating the land mafia to create a conducive environment in the community and to provide protection and legal certainty for certificate holders. In 2020, 1,228 land disputes were resolved.<\/p>\n
