(Photo by: Presidential Secretariat PR\/Lukas)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Minister of State Secretary Pratikno asserted that the Government will not revise Law Number 7 of 2017 on General Election and Law Number 10 of 2016 on Second Amendment to Law Number 1 of 2015 on Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2014 on Election of Governors, Regents, and Mayors into Law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Government has no intention to revise the laws. The existing laws which have run well should continue to be enforced, for example, Law Number 7 of 2017 on General Election that has successfully been organized. If there is something that needs to be improved, leave it to the General Elections Commission (KPU),\u201d Pratikno said at his office, in Jakarta, Tuesday (16\/2).<\/p>\n<p>He went on to say that Law Number 10 of 2016 regulated schedule in simultaneous regional elections in November 2024. Since the elections are not held yet, there is no need to revise the Law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe 2024 simultaneous regional elections have been stipulated under Law Number 10 of 2016 and the Government has yet to hold it. How come we revise a law that is not even implemented yet? Moreover, the law has received a joint approval from the House of Representatives and the President.
