{"id":212769,"date":"2021-03-29T16:17:01","date_gmt":"2021-03-29T09:17:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/?p=212769"},"modified":"2021-03-30T13:18:49","modified_gmt":"2021-03-30T06:18:49","slug":"govt-prepares-regulation-on-transportation-control","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/en\/govt-prepares-regulation-on-transportation-control\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov\u2019t Prepares Regulation on Transportation Control"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_212772\" style=\"width: 2510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-212772\" class=\"size-full wp-image-212772\" src=\"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/MoT.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2500\" height=\"1667\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-212772\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi (29\/03\/2021) (Photo by: PR of Cabinet Secretariat\/Rahmat)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ministry of Transportation is preparing a regulation on transportation control as a follow-up policy of this year\u2019s <em>mudik <\/em>(the annual mass exodus ahead of Eid al-Fitr) ban.<\/p>\n<p>This regulation-making is a result of intensive collaboration between related ministries and agencies, especially the\u00a0COVID-19 National Task Force, Ministry of Health, Regional Governments, the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Ministry of Transportation supports the ban of this year\u2019s <em>mudik<\/em> based on consideration to anticipate the spike in COVID-19 cases and the result of ministerial-level coordination meeting. As a follow-up policy, we are currently drafting a transportation control regulation,&#8221; Budi Karya said Monday (29\/03\/2021) in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>In drafting the regulation, Ministry of Transportation refers to the result of the online survey conducted by the Research and Development Agency of Transportation Ministry and Bandung Institute of Technology in March 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the survey, if <em>mudik<\/em> is ban, 89 percent of the survey participants will obey it, while 11 percent will still go to their hometown or go on vacation. The estimated number of people still going on <em>mudik, <\/em>amid the ban, is 27.6 million people nationally, with main destinations: Central Java (37 percent), West Java (23 percent), and East Java (14 percent).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, as a serious commitment to contribute to the prevention of COVID-19 transmission, the Ministry of Transportation also requests input from various parties including transportation observers, sociologists, and other stakeholders in drafting this regulation.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, this year\u2019s <em>mudik <\/em>ban has officially announced by the Government and will be implemented from 6-17 May 2021. <strong>(PR of Transportation Ministry\/PR of <\/strong><strong>Coordinating Ministry<\/strong><strong>\u00a0for\u00a0Human Development and Cultural\u00a0Affairs<\/strong><strong>)<\/strong><strong> (AP\/MMB)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ministry of Transportation is preparing a regulation on transportation control as a follow-up policy of this year\u2019s mudik (the annual mass exodus ahead of Eid al-Fitr) ban.
