The COVID-19 pandemic has proven the essential role of technology in public services. To that end, Regional Government of West Nusa Tenggara Province has launched various digital applications to bridge communications between the Government and the public.<\/p>\n

The applications also aim to serve as a means for the public to voice their aspiration during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe West Nusa Tenggara provincial government has developed an app called NTB Care where the public can voice all their thoughts including criticism or complaint because we realize that they have something to say to the Government but they don\u2019t know how to do it,\u201d Vice Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Province Sitti Rohmi Djalilah said in a meeting with the House of Representatives Commission II overseeing home affairs.<\/p>\n

In the implementation, she said, it required coordination with all regencies\/municipalities to make the voice heard on the ground.<\/p>\n

She went on to say that the regional government has also developed disaster alert app, which will educate the people about potential disasters in their respective regions, and Lestari app which provides information about waste management.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are also several events or meetings, including a community meeting with Bang Zul-Umi Rohmi, (governor and vice governor of West Nusa Tenggara), held virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, Rohmi also explained efforts made by the regional government to address COVID-19 cases and to speed up economic recovery in the province.<\/p>\n

\u201cCOVID-19 cases in West Nusa Tenggara province are under control, meaning that the bed occupancy rate for inpatients and Intensive Care Units (ICU) have not exceeded the number of patients,\u201d she said adding that the health protocols must always be followed to maintain a safe and productive life.<\/p>\n

Regarding economic recovery, she added, the province saw a good sign through the organization of MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition) and the increase in hotel occupancy rate.<\/p>\n
