(Photo by: Press Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat \/Lukas)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo, on Friday (11\/06\/2021) inspected construction progress of the Semarang-Demak toll road located in Sidogemah village, Sayung sub-district, Demak Regency, Central Java.<\/p>\n<p>President Jokowi expressed hope that this toll road will significantly improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion on the Kaligawe and Ahmad Yani airport route.<\/p>\n<p>This toll road, the President added, also aims to control tidal flood by functioning integrated retention ponds and sea embankment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAreas that were submerged by floods will soon be dry and can be used for industry areas and centers of new economic development,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, a 26.7-kilometer Semarang-Demak Toll Road consists of two sections with Section I of Kaligawe-Sayung spanning 10.39 kilometers and Section II of Sayung-Demak spanning 16.31 kilometers.<\/p>\n<p>This toll road is part of the Trans-Java Toll Road network on the Java\u2019s North Coast corridor that will connect Semarang, Demak, Rembang in Central Java with Tuban and Gresik in East Java.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of State further said that Section I of the toll road project is funded by the Government and Section II is constructed through the Government-to-\u200bbusiness cooperation (KPBU) scheme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that the construction can be completed soon, so that it can boost economic growth in the province,\u201d the President remarked. <strong>(TGH\/UN<\/strong><strong>)<\/strong><strong> (AP\/MUR)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo, on Friday (11\/06\/2021) inspected construction progress of the Semarang-Demak toll road located in Sidogemah village, Sayung sub-district, Demak Regency, Central Java.
