Photo by: Presidential Secretariat.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Government has expressed optimism that the public will comply with the provisions in Emergency Activity Restrictions (Emergency PPKM) as an effort to combat COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As of this afternoon, reports from on the ground monitoring show that the implementation of the Emergency PPKM is running smoothly, in line with Instruction of Minister of Home Affairs Number 15 of 2021,&#8221; Spokesperson for Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Jodi Mahardi said, Saturday (03\/07).<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, Jodi also urged regional governments and law enforcement officials to immediately evaluate the implementation of the restrictions and take necessary measures to ensure its implementation, adding that COVID-19 daily cases on Saturday (03\/07) stood at 27,913 with 493 people dead, 13,282 people recover, and 281,677 active cases.<\/p>\n<p>He also underscored that indicators for measures in public health sector and social restrictions in dealing with the pandemic are stipulated in Decree of Minister of Health Number HK.01.07\/Menkes\/4805\/2021 issued on 30 June 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Government, he added, also cooperates with several digital platforms and social media, as well as telecommunication service providers to monitor people&#8217;s mobility during the implementation of the Emergency PPKM.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding sanctions that can be imposed on violation, he added, law enforcement officials can refer to Law Number 23 of 2014 on Regional Governments and discipline regulations in every institution.<\/p>\n<p>Jodi further said that law enforcement officials may also refer to criminal provisions based on Law Number 4 of 1984 on Pandemic of Infectious Disease, Law Number 6 of 2018 on Health Quarantine, and Articles number 212 to 218 of the Penal Code. He also stressed that the Emergency PPKM aims to curb the spread of the virus by limiting non-essential mobility and ultimately controlling the rate of COVID-19 transmission.<\/p>\n<p>The policy is also coupled with measures to increase testing with and create mapping on the spread of the disease and risk zoning, he added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I appeal to the public to comply with the provisions of the Emergency PPKM.
