The Government has announced it is speeding up the construction of Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) toll road in West Java province.<\/p>\n

The construction of the toll road is targeted for completion by the beginning of 2022.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter inspecting the construction, I am optimistic that Cisumdawu Toll Road will be in operation in 2022,\u201d Coordinating Minister for Investment and Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said, Thursday (30\/09).<\/p>\n

According to Luhut, the toll road will cut the travel time among regions in West Java province. For example, it will only take one hour to travel from Bandung to Kertajati.<\/p>\n

Luhut also expressed gratitude to Ministry of Public Works and Housing for its contribution in building the toll road quickly.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Minister of Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadimuljono reported that the toll road is important and needed to boost economy in the province, including in improving the effectivity of Kertajati airport and Patimban port, as well as in developing the people\u2019s economy in Ciayu Majakuning zone (Cirebon city, Cirebon regency, Indramayu regency, Majalengka regency, and Kuningan regency) and Rebana Special Economic Zone in Cirebon, Patimban, and Kertajati in West Java province.<\/p>\n

Basuki also expressed gratitude to the Directorate General of Bina Marga and the Indonesia Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) for their contribution in accelerating the toll road construction, adding that he has ordered his ranks to continue the construction and expressed hope that there will be no obstacles to finish the project.<\/p>\n

For the record, the Cisumdawu Toll Road consists of six sections funded under the public-private partnership (KPBU) scheme amounting to Rp5.5 trillion with two of the six sections funded by the Government.<\/p>\n

Section one of Cileunyi-Rancakalong spans 11.45 kilometers long, while section two of Rancakalong-Sumedang spans 17.05 kilometers. To date, the overall progress of section one has reached 94.55 percent, while the progress of the construction of section two has reached 95.80 percent.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, four of the six sections are funded by the BUJT\u2019s PT Citra Karya Jabar Tol (CKJT). Section three of Sumedang-Cimalaka in which the construction progress of almost 100 percent spans 4.05 kilometers.<\/p>\n

Section four of Cimalaka-Legok spans 8.20 kilometers with the construction progress still at 6.59 percent. The construction progress of the 14.9-kilometer section five of Legok-Ujungjaya is still 20.65 percent and the construction progress of the last section of Ujung Jaya-Dawuan has already reached 63.29 percent.\u00a0(PR of Ministry of Public Works and Housing\/UN) (AP\/EP)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
