It could be seen in electrification ratio in the third quarter of 2021 which reached 99.40 percent and a promising growth in ratio of new and renewable energy power plants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the third quarter this year, electrification ratio has increased by 0.3 percent to 99.40 percent. We have set a target to provide electricity to all households throughout Indonesia,\u201d Head of Communications, Public Information Services, and Cooperation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Agung Pribadi, stated as quoted from the Ministry\u2019s official website, Monday (21\/11).<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry\u2019s data showed that East Nusa Tenggara is the only province with electrification ratio below 90 percent. On the other hand, electrification ratio in Bali province has reached 100 percent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBesides improving service quality, speeding up the completion of electricity infrastructures becomes our top priority,\u201d Agung said.<\/p>\n<p>For that reason, the Government will increase the capacity of new and renewable energy power plants to 20,923 megawatts by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the past five years, there is an increase in new and renewable energy power plants\u2019 capacity of 1,469 megawatts which showed an average increase of four percent, annually,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to say that in a period from January to September 2021, the capacity of new and renewable energy power plants has increased 386 megawatts, particularly solar power and hydropower plants. The 386-megawatt increase sourced from Poso Peaker Hydropower Plant 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Expansion (130 megawatt), 12 micro hydropower plants (71.26 megawatt), 2 geothermal power plants (55 megawatt), bioenergy power plant (19.5 megawatt), and solar power plant (17.88).<\/p>\n<p>With that increase, the Government is optimistic that it can achieve the target of new and renewable energy mix of 23 percent by 2025.
