Following the inauguration of <\/span>Pidekso Dam in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java <\/span>province by <\/span>President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo, on Tuesday (<\/span>12\/<\/span>28)<\/span>,<\/span> a<\/span> number of farmers expressed their hopes upon the <\/span>construction<\/span> of the 232-hectare dam.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One of the farmers from Kebunharjo village, Surahmin, felt grateful upon the <\/span>construction<\/span> of Pidekso Dam. Surahmin said that the dam will bring enormous benefits and welfare for the people.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cWe are grateful and insya<\/i> Allah it will bring benefits for the people. We used to harvest one or two times a year, insya<\/i>Allah next time we will harvest three or four times a year,\u201d Surahmin said. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Surahmin also <\/span>expressed <\/span>hope that Pidekso Dam will bring benefits to the irrigation, so farmers\u2019 productivity will increase. To date, Surahmin continued, the farmers can produce about 6-7 tons for <\/span>one<\/span> hectare in the village. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cWe hope that if we can harvest three times a year, we may increase our production,\u201d he added. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Another farmer from Balepanjang village, Trianto, also <\/span>echoed<\/span> the same response and <\/span>expressed <\/span>hope that <\/span>with <\/span>the <\/span>construction<\/span> of the dam, local production of foodstuffs will grow higher. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cAccording to my experience, <\/span>b<\/span>efore Pidekso dam was built, we could only harvest once a year. Hopefully, later we can harvest two or three times a year after Pidekso dam is built,\u201d Trianto said.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Moreover, the farmers requested that the Government pay attention to the tertiery irrigation of Pidekso dam. Mariyono, a farmer from Ngancar village <\/span>expressed <\/span>hope that the irrigation of this dam can be on target.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
