During a bilateral meeting in Bintan regency in Riau Islands province, President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong discussed bilateral issues as well as a number of issues in the region, especially concerning the latest development in Myanmar.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very concerned about the developing situation in Myanmar. Indonesia and Singapore share the same view on the importance of implementing ASEAN Five-Point Consensus,\u201d President Jokowi said in a joint statement with PM Lee after the meeting, Tuesday (01\/25).<\/p>\n

The President also called all parties to respect the consensus that has been agreed by ASEAN countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe consensus is ASEAN decision at high level and must be respected by all,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi also underscored there should be no discrimination in humanitarian assistance distribution to Myanmar.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe agree that the safety and well-being of the Myanmar people continues to be our top concern,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The President also affirmed the importance of strengthening ASEAN as an institution to be more resilient and able to respond to new challenges in the future.<\/p>\n
