President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (01\/27) officially opened the B20 Inception Meeting of 2022 virtually from the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java province.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, President Jokowi called on the G20 member countries and B20 business representatives to collaborate in facing various global challenges.<\/p>\n

“Indonesia’s G20 Presidency invites the G20 and B20 to collaborate to create breakthroughs and concrete actions in order to make great contributions to the global economic recovery,” the President said.<\/p>\n

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is not only a problem but also an opportunity to flourish.<\/p>\n

“We must make use of this opportunity to realize a fairer global governance, which brings prosperity and ensures a more inclusive and sustainable economic growth,” he said.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the Head of State specifically invited the B20 to support three priority issues addressed in Indonesia’s G20 Presidency, namely Sustainable Energy Transition, Digital Economic Transformation, and Strengthening of Global Health Architecture in the face of a global pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should synergize global public and private partnerships to provide global solutions. Indonesia, as a country and as the G20 Presidency, is committed and striving to make contributions to the world that grows inclusively and sustainably,” the President remarked.<\/p>\n

For the record, B20 is the G20’s official dialogue forum with global business community. Composed of approximately 1,000 delegates from G20 member countries, including top executives from leading multinational companies, the B20 is attended by around 2,000 participants representing more than 6.5 million businesses.
