The Government will ease activity restrictions (PPKM) in several areas in the islands of Java and Bali as the pandemic situation has improved.<\/p>\n

“Along with the improvement of COVID-19 pandemic situation, the number of regencies\/cities returning to level 2 PPKM will increase significantly,” Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said after a Limited Cabinet Meeting, Monday (03\/07).<\/p>\n

The Coordinating Minister said that the greater Jakarta and the greater Surabaya areas will return to level 2 PPKM due to a decrease in daily confirmed cases and hospitalization rate.<\/p>\n

“The detailed provisions will be stipulated in Instruction of Minister of Home Affairs to be issued today,” he added.<\/p>\n

Luhut also said that the number of national daily confirmed cases has also decreased significantly, followed by lower hospitalization and mortality rate.<\/p>\n

As the pandemic assessment shows signs of improvement, he added, people mobility has also increased significantly, reflected in the last week\u2019s Google Mobility data.<\/p>\n

Luhut further said that in line with the improvement of the pandemic situation and increasing community mobility, the Government will continue to encourage the acceleration of the second dose vaccination for communities, especially the elderly.<\/p>\n

“The Government also orders all regencies\/cities in the islands of Java and Bali to speed up booster vaccination. [The booster vaccination rate] is still below 10 percent in the islands of Java and Bali,” the Coordinating Minister remarked.
