As part of the G20 Summit, Ministry of Health is set to hold the first Health Working Group (HWG) Meeting in a hybrid format, a combination of an on-site and a virtual meeting, on March 28-30, 2022 in Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of 43 invited countries and international organizations, so far, there are 13 delegates of G20 member countries and around 70 foreign delegates of international organizations and 50 local participants have declared their on-site attendance,\u201d Secretary General of Ministry of Health Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha said as quoted from the Ministry\u2019s official website, Thursday (03\/10).<\/p>\n

According to Kunta, supervision and implementation of health protocols during the HWG Meeting will be strictly carried out, including wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, adjusting room capacity, and carrying out daily antigen test during the event.<\/p>\n

In addition, the bubble system will be implemented during the event, which refers to Circular of COVID-19 Task Force Number 6 of 2022 on Bubble System Health Protocols of the Series of G20 Meetings during COVID-19 Pandemic<\/a>. Quarantine exceptions starting from upon arrival of delegations in Jakarta or Yogyakarta to event activities at the hotel must be carried out in the corridor of regulations with the COVID-19 Task Force.<\/p>\n

The 1st<\/sup> HWG\u00a0 Meeting will adopt the theme \u201cHarmonization of Global Health Protocol Standards\u201d. In addition to priority issues, there will also be a side event on tuberculosis that aims to garner commitment and increase sustainable investment in the lung disease control.<\/p>\n

Ministry of Health through the Sherpa Track is set to hold the HWG Meeting under the theme \u201cRearranging the Global Health Architecture\u201d which will discuss three priority issues in health sector, namely building global health system resilience, harmonizing global health protocol standards, and expanding global manufacturing and knowledge centers to pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.<\/p>\n

For the record, in the series of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency, around 150 meetings and 200 side events will be held in 20 locations in this year. Currently, 25 meetings in Yogyakarta have been announced which will be held from March to October 2022.<\/p>\n
