In a bid to further empower productive age people, Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah Tuesday (03\/22) announced the Government is set to expand job opportunities for professional workers in Republic of Korea.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe plan is an effort by the Government to reduce unemployment and to promote the empowerment of productive workforces,\u201d Ida said after hosting Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Republic of Korea Gandi Sulistiyanto in her office, Jakarta.<\/p>\n

According to the Minister, Ministry of Manpower and Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea in May 2021 signed an MoU on cooperation in the sector of labor and labor relations for fishing crews working on fishing vessels with Republic of Korea\u2019s flag.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe MoU is a G-to-G (government-to-government) collaboration in the Indonesian fishing crews\u2019 placement and protection in Republic of Korea under the Foreign Seafarer System,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Ida also stated that her Ministry is currently developing an online app service for worker overseas placement, especially to countries that already have an MoU with Indonesia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe service mechanism will be adjusted based on the business process that has been agreed upon by the two countries so that data collection is more accurate and accountable and can facilitate the monitoring and supervision of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI),\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n

Ida also expressed hope that the MoU can expand job opportunities for Indonesian citizens in Republic of Korea and boost the exchange of skills and knowledge between the two countries.<\/p>\n
