(Photo by: BPMI of Presidential Secretariat\/Laily Rachev)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In a series of working visits to East Nusa Tenggara province, President Joko &#8220;Jokowi&#8221; Widodo Thursday (03\/24) visited Oinlasi village in South Mollo district, South Central Timor regency, to inspect hydraulic ram pump well program to provide water for local communities.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Assistant for Logistics of Chief of Staff of the IX\/Udayana Regional Military Command, Lt. Col. Kav. Djefri Marsono Hanok stated that the program was carried out in the entire area of the regional military command which includes the provinces of Bali and Nusa Tenggara.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For the whole Bali and Nusa Tenggara, there are 227 (pumps). In East Nusa Tenggara, they are located in 175 locations. In South Central Timor, there are 43 locations, Mr. President,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Djefri also stated that the procurement of the hydraulic ram pumps will continue to the following year, both for drinking water supply and agriculture needs.&#8221;Now, we have worked on the agriculture one, there are two locations, Rote Ndao regency and Bali province,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, the hydraulic ram pump can operate without electricity due to its use of kinetic energy.<\/p>\n<p>Out of 227 locations, the program is completed in 201 locations while the remaining 26 locations are still under construction. It is expected that the program will benefit 36,849 families or 148,995 people throughout Bali and Nusa Tenggara provinces.
