Assalamu\u2019alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.<\/em><\/p>\n

Alhamdulillahirabbil \u2018alamin, washalatu wasalamu \u2018ala asrafil ambiya\u2019i wal mursalin, sayyidina wa habibina wa syafiina wa maulana Muhammadin, wa \u2018ala alihi washahbihi ajma\u2019in. Amma ba\u2019du.<\/em><\/p>\n

Distinguished Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia,
\nDistinguished Heads and Members of State Institutions,
\nYour Excellency Ambassadors and Representatives of Friendly Countries,
\nDistinguished Ministers of Indonesian Onward Cabinet,
\nLadies and Gentlemen.<\/p>\n

One of the privileges of Ramadan, the month full of blessings and forgiveness, is we can commemorate Nuzulul Quran<\/em>, the revelation day of the Quran, the holy book of Muslims, which was revealed to Prophet Muhammad PBUH as a guide for life and human life.<\/p>\n

The Qur’an is a miracle from Allah in which there is no doubt. The Quran is a guide and a distinction between right and wrong. (The Quran also serves) as a warning, as a blessing, as an explanation, as good news, and even as a medicine for a sad, aching heart.<\/p>\n

Ladies and Gentlemen,<\/p>\n

As a God-believing nation, we are required to believe and have faith in the One and Only God Almighty. The consequence of having faith in God Almighty is to accept gracefully that diversity is the will of God.<\/p>\n

The Qur’an confirms that the diversity occurs in various creatures of God is essentially a sunnatullah <\/em>(laws of Allah), a decree of Allah, a scenario of Allah. We must continue to protect, maintain, and manage it properly the diversity, which is the blessings from Allah, so it can create a connection that can build unity in healthy dialogues with the spirit of complementing and enriching each other, as well as competing in doing goods.<\/p>\n

Ladies and Gentlemen,<\/p>\n

We have to realize that every diverse element of nation has its own merits and advantages. Do not let any of us feel more, better than the others, even more pious than others. We may be different from each other but it does not mean that we are better than the others.<\/p>\n

The goodness which comes from various elements of the nation\u2014from Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to Rote Island\u2014indeed needs to be mainly used for the common good.<\/p>\n

Therefore, I invite all Muslims to commemorate Nuzulul Quran<\/em> as a momentum to strengthen togetherness in diversity which is very much needed to realize baldatun toyyibatun wa rabbun ghafur<\/em> (a prosperous nation full of God\u2019s blessings).<\/p>\n

This concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion.<\/p>\n
