Several days prior to this year\u2019s Eid holiday, the Government through Ministry of Health Thursday (04\/21) has prepared 340 health service posts equipped with two-wheeler and four-wheeler ambulances along mudik (annual homecoming ritual during Eid period) routes. The posts are located at various spots including toll road rest areas, toll gates, non-toll roads, as well as tourist destinations.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is our hope that the health service posts can minimize health risks of the people during mudik <\/em>[trip] so their trip is healthy, safe, and comfortable,\u201d Ministry of Health\u2019s Spokesperson for COVID-19 Vaccination Siti Nadia Tarmizi said.<\/p>\n

For the record, Ministry of Health has prepared 13,968 health care facilities consist of 10,292 community health centers (Puskesmas), 3,034 hospitals, 251 public safety centers (PSC), 51 port health offices (KKP), and 340 health service posts in all provinces throughout Indonesia to provide health services and to facilitate people to health service facilities during mudik season. <\/em><\/p>\n

Moreover, in a bid to avoid COVID-19 transmission, Ministry of Health also urged the people who will go on mudik to immediately get COVID-19 booster vaccines in order to boost their body\u2019s immune system.<\/p>\n

Based on a report from Ministry of Health, as of April 21, 2022, COVID-19 booster vaccination coverage has reached 32.78 million doses or 15.74 percent of the target. Thus, the Government continues to intensify vaccination by providing vaccination sites in public places, adding that, it is also expected that this year\u2019s mudik can be a momentum to boost COVID-19 booster vaccination coverage.<\/p>\n

Nadia also reminded those who had received COVID-19 booster vaccines to stay vigilant and always adhere to health protocols by wearing a mask, maintaining a safe distance and avoiding crowds because the risk of virus transmission still exists.
