President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo welcomed the Indonesian Education Providers Alliance (APPI) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (05\/30).<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the alliance expressed hopes and views on various education policies as well as providing input and proposals related to education in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

“We convey input and suggestions on how Indonesia’s education in the future can be carried out together through a mutual cooperation mechanism,” said the Steering Committee of APPI Doni Koesoema Albertus in his statement after the meeting.<\/p>\n

According to Doni, the alliance exists to support President Jokowi\u2019s vision and mission so that Indonesia’s human capital is high-class and has firm character. To achieve this, the alliance views that good cooperation and collaboration are needed between ministries and education providers from Sabang to Merauke, both in cities and remote areas.<\/p>\n

“We want the state to be present and we have been presenting the state through education measures. Therefore, we are here to emphasize our continuous support that the President Jokowi\u2019s vision and mission will be genuinely realized throughout the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia through our works, duties, and services,” he further explained.<\/p>\n

For the record, the Indonesian Education Providers Alliance (APPI) consisted of the Muhammadiyah Education Council, the Indonesian Teachers Association, the Supervisory Board for the Christian Education Council in Indonesia, the National Council for Catholic Education, and the Association of Schools and Islamic Schools throughout Indonesia (Hisminu).
