(Photo: Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of Presidential Secretariat\/Laily Rachev)<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Thursday (07\/28) at Yongsan Presidential Office in South Korean capital of Seoul met with South Korean President Yoon.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Upon arrival, President Jokowi was welcomed by President Yoon. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Both leaders directly proceeded to the second floor of Yongsan Presidential Office and President Yoon gave the opportunity to President Jokowi to fill the guest book. Afterwards, President Yoon introduced South Korean delegation attending the meeting to President Jokowi, followed by a photo session. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Subsequently, President Jokowi and President Yoon had a limited meeting in a separate room before they led a bilateral meeting between delegations of the two countries. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cPresident Yoon extended his appreciation on President Jokowi\u2019s leadership in addressing global issues,\u201d Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi said after the meeting.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">In his introductory remarks during the bilateral meeting, President Yoon said that President Jokowi\u2019s visit demonstrates the importance of relations between South Korea and Indonesia since the diplomatic relation between both countries was established in 1973. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cThe visit paid by <i>Bapak<\/i> President shows the importance of relations between (South) Korea and Indonesia. Since the diplomatic relation between both countries was established in 1973 or in the last 50 years, many improvements have been made in economic, trade, culture, people-to-people contact, diplomatic relations and defense sectors,\u201d President Yoon said. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">President Yoon added that Indonesia is the only country in South East Asia that has a special partnership with South Korea and said he also appreciated Indonesia\u2019s presidency in G20. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Meanwhile, in his introductory remarks, President Jokowi congratulated President Yoon for being elected as President of South Korea and expressed belief that under his leadership, bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea would be stronger.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cRelations between Indonesia and Republic of Korea has been very well established based on a special strategic partnership. However, there is still more room for improving the cooperation. So, I will use my visit to strengthen the cooperation, especially in economic sector,\u201d President Jokowi said. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">After the bilateral meeting, President Jokowi and President Yoon proceeded to a separate room to witness the signing of cooperation. The cooperation signed include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Memorandum of Understanding between Indonesian Ministry of Investment\/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy on Improvement of Sustainable Green Investment.<\/li>\n<li>Amended Protocol in Memorandum of Understanding between Indonesian Ministry of Public Works and Housing and South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation on Technical Cooperation of the Relocation and Establishment of the New Capital.<\/li>\n<li>Memorandum of Understanding between Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs and South Korean Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries on Maritime Cooperation. <b>(Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of Presidential Secretariat\/UN)(AW\/EP)<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Thursday (07\/28) at Yongsan Presidential Office in South Korean capital of Seoul met with South Korean President Yoon.
