Thousands of residents of Tanimbar Islands regency in Maluku province Thursday (01\/09) welcomed President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo during his working visit to the regency.<\/p>\n

“For more than 50 years, no President has ever visited Tanimbar Islands regency. The people are so eager to meet their leader,” the President said.<\/p>\n

On the second day in his visit, the people also greeted the President along his trip from Olilit market to the post office.<\/p>\n

Ad Interim Regent of Tanimbar Islands regency Daniel Indey said the last President who visited the regency was President Soekarno back in 1958.<\/p>\n
