President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo called for a fast, easy, and on-target distribution of cash fuel assistance and wage subsidy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI notice that the distribution has been going well. I expect the distribution can be made fast, easy, and right on target,\u201d the President said that in a join press statement with Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini and Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday (09\/16).<\/p>\n

The Head of State went on saying that he always monitors the distribution of social assistance programs during his working visit in different regions, for instance the distribution of fuel cash assistance in Jayapura, Papua province, Tanimbar Islands in Maluku province, and Bandar Lampung, Lampung province.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also oversaw the distribution in several areas in Maluku province; Southeast Maluku regency, Tual city, Aru islands, and Southwest Maluku,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

For the record, the Government has announced the reallocation of fuel subsidy on September 3, 2022 with an aim of providing better targeted subsidy to the people.<\/p>\n

Budget for the subsidy was reallocated to social supports, namely fuel cash subsidy and wage subsidy. The Government has allocated Rp12.4 trillion to provide fuel cash subsidy to 20.65 million beneficiaries and Rp9.6 trillion to provide wage subsidy to 16 million workers.
