Cabinet Secretariat\u2019s Center for Fostering of Translators\/Interpreters organized Interpreting Training Batch IV of 2022 which will be held from 21 to 28 September 2022 in a virtual session. The training featured keynote trainer Bambang Rudyanto, a Professor of Wako University, Japan.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery year, Cabinet Secretariat\u2019s Center for Fostering of Translators\/Interpreters organizes Interpreting Training in order to develop competent, reliable, and professional interpreters,\u201d Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Administration said during the commencement of the training on Wednesday morning (09\/21).<\/p>\n

In his remarks delivered by the Head of Center for Fostering of Translators\/Interpreters Sri Wahyu Utami, the Deputy emphasized that Cabinet Secretariat as the fostering institution of the Government\u2019s Translators\/Interpreters realizes the important role of the translators\/interpreters in supporting the Government\u2019s domestic and international programs and making it successful.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that training the translators\/interpreters is a valuable investment for culture development through interactions with other foreign cultures. Communication and information system has highly developed and creates a world without boundaries,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

The Deputy added that translation\/interpreting is inevitable in information exchanging process which is fast and increasing cultural contacts. An interpreter is demanded to have wide general and special knowledges, such as knowledge of terms in specific area and knowledge of cultures, as well as effective communication skills and good pronounciation. In addition, an interpreter should have more complex skills.<\/p>\n

\u201cInterpreters must be able to work under pressure and not easily get panic if it is difficult to find the correct diction in interpreting. They must think fast in finding the equivalent word without changing the meaning, and not to add or reduce the meaning with their own interpretation. They must also be neutral,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the Deputy also affirmed Cabinet Secretariat\u2019s commitment to contribute to make Indonesia\u2019s G20 Presidency successful. The commitment is realized through, among others, developing\u00a0 the Government\u2019s interpreters\u2019 competence which is highly needed in accompanying regional or central heads of\u00a0 institution in G20 meetings.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2022, Indonesia has played a major role at the international stage by holding G20 Presidency and becoming the host since 1 September 2021 until the end of 2022. Therefore, Cabinet Secretariat also contributes to make the event successful,\u201d he highlighted.<\/p>\n
