The Indonesian National Police should accelerate reforms in the institution to provide the best services and to boost public trust, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin has said.<\/p>\n

\u201cRestoring and strengthening public trust requires professionalism and integrity built from within the institution. Professionalism and integrity must be instilled since the recruitment process for members of the police,\u201d Ma\u2019ruf said at Seminar of School for Staff and High-Level Leaders Batch 31 and School for Middle-Level Leaders Batch 62 at Tribrata Building, South Jakarta, Wednesday (09\/22).<\/p>\n

Ma\u2019ruf also pointed out that professionalism and integrity must be reflected in the behavior of all ranks of the police personnel, including in handling cases in an effective and accountable manner.<\/p>\n

To that end, a good role model is needed from the top management to the executive, he added.<\/p>\n

“To carry out internal reforms, the role of the police leadership is crucial as a determinant of the police\u2019 vision, as well as in being an example and in boosting nthusiasm for police officers throughout Indonesia,” he said.<\/p>\n

In the seminar entitled “Strengthening the Integrity of Police Leadership to Support Organizational Culture Reform in the Framework of Building Public Trust”, Ma\u2019ruf also extended his appreciation for the curriculum on strengthening the values and spirit of the police reforms in the education and training schools.<\/p>\n
