{"id":260021,"date":"2022-10-14T14:00:33","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T07:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/?p=260021"},"modified":"2022-10-17T14:02:21","modified_gmt":"2022-10-17T07:02:21","slug":"bmkg-extreme-weather-expected-by-next-week-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/en\/bmkg-extreme-weather-expected-by-next-week-2\/","title":{"rendered":"BMKG: Extreme Weather Expected by Next Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_259487\" style=\"width: 668px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-259487\" class=\"wp-image-259487 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/bmkg.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"658\" height=\"354\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-259487\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">BMKG logo<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warned of potential extreme weather between October 15 until 21.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe extreme weather potentially occurs in across the country since the atmospheric conditions in Indonesia are still quite complex and dynamic for the next week, which is influenced by global, regional, or local atmospheric phenomenon,\u201d BMKG Head Dwikorita Karnawati said in a written statement, Friday (10\/14).<\/p>\n<p>The report, Dwikorita added, predicts the potential for moderate to heavy rainfall with potential lightning and strong winds the in the next week to occur in 24 provinces, namely all provinces on the islands of Sumatra, Bali and Nusa Tenggara, also in the provinces of Banten, West Java, Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and Papua.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on impact-based forecasts, heavy rain potentially occurs at alert status in some areas of Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau in October 15-16,\u201d the Head of BMKG said.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Dwikorita also stated that there is a potential for maximum tides that need to be wary of, among others, in north coast region of Jakarta province which occurs at 10:00 \u2013 15:00 local time and at Belawan beach, North Sumatra province at 04:00 \u2013 10:00 WIB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe condition could potentially block the flow of rainwater from land to sea, thus causing inundation or tidal flood on the coast,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>The agency also reported for potential high tides in Indonesian waters on October 15-21, namely high tides of 2.5-4.0 meters are forecast to occur in North Natuna sea, waters of Natuna islands, northern waters of Sabang, western waters of Aceh, western waters of Nias islands, waters of Enggano island-Bengkulu, western waters of Lampung, western Indian Ocean of Sumatra, western and southern Sunda strait, southern waters of Banten-East Java, Bali strait-Lombok-southern Alas, southern waters of Bali-Sumba island, Indian Ocean south of Banten-Sumba island.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA small part of Sumba island and Kupang has been more than 60 days without rain, thereby, it is necessary to remain vigilant of drought and land fires potential,\u201d Dwikorita said.<\/p>\n<p>Given the condition, the BMKG has urged regional government and the people to remain vigilant and careful of the impacts the extreme weather may cause, such as floods, landslides, flashfloods, puddles, strong winds, fallen trees, and slippery roads.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, BMKG provides a 24-hour information service on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmkg.co.id\/\">https:\/\/www.bmkg.co.id<\/a> and https:\/\/signature.bmkg.go.id\/, on @infoBMKG on Instagram and Twitter, on \u201cInfo BMKG\u201d iOS and Android applications, call center 196-BMKG, and the nearest BMKG office.<strong> (UN) (GWH\/LW)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warned of potential extreme weather between October 15 until 21. \u201cThe extreme weather potentially occurs in across the country since the atmospheric conditions in Indonesia are still quite complex and dynamic for the next week, which is influenced by global, regional, or local atmospheric phenomenon,\u201d BMKG Head Dwikorita [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":43,"featured_media":259487,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[77],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-260021","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v24.1 (Yoast SEO v26.1.1) -
