\n<\/em>Greetings of Virtue.<\/p>\n

Distinguished Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia and spouse;
\nHonorable Chairpersons and Deputy Chairpersons of State Institutions;
\nDistinguished Ibu<\/em> Megawati Soekarnoputri, the Fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia;
\nDistinguished Minister of Defense and Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet;
\nDistinguished Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri);
\nHonorable Chiefs of Staff of Army, Navy, and Airforce, as well as TNI personnel across the nation.
\nLadies and Gentlemen.<\/p>\n

First and foremost, on behalf of the people, the nation, and the state, I congratulate the TNI on its 77th<\/sup> Anniversary, wherever your posts are. I would like to extend my gratitude and highest appreciation to TNI family who constantly maintain the nation\u2019s sovereignty, protect the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, and protect the entire nation of Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Ladies and Gentlemen,<\/p>\n

The world is currently facing a very, very difficult challenge. After the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, the world is currently hit by food, energy and financial crises. The Russia-Ukraine war also made it worse. The world economic situation is filled with uncertainty and the geopolitics are heating up.<\/p>\n

To deal with such situation, we, the Indonesian people must continue to be careful and vigilant. We must strengthen national unity and integrity, we must strengthen peace and mutual cooperation, we must work hand in hand and remain united so that Indonesia can face this grave crises. As has been proven in the history of Indonesia’s journey, the TNI has always been at the forefront in facing any challenges and crises.<\/p>\n

Ladies and Gentlemen,<\/p>\n

Our responsibility is not only handling the crisis in our own country. We also have a duty to contribute to the world. This year, amid today\u2019s difficult times, Indonesia holds the G20 Presidency. Indonesia also gains trust to be a member of the Champion Group of the Global Crisis Response and Indonesia will become the Chair of ASEAN next year. We must be able to show the world that Indonesia\u2019s leadership in the G20 can produce concrete actions and solutions, so that the world crisis does not continue and we can build a capable world in facing the challenges.<\/p>\n

To the TNI and Polri personnel, please work hand-in-hand in order to make the national agendas successful. Please support national agendas in handling the crises in food, energy, and financial sectors. Please support food self-sufficiency, inflation control, and maintain defense and security so that people can work optimally amid various challenges,<\/p>\n

Ladies and Gentlemen,<\/p>\n

In the midst of nation\u2019s challenges, I want every single personnel of TNI to continue to improve professionalism and fulfill the minimum essential force. Strength development needs to be in line with national development and state defense program needs to be continued according to democratic principles to maintain the survival of the nation and state in accordance with Pancasila (the State Ideology) and the 1945 Constitution.<\/p>\n

The Government, people, and country have high hopes for the TNI. Please uphold your identity, be it as people\u2019s soldiers, warrior soldiers, national soldiers, or professional soldiers and to be at the forefront of dealing with every threat and disturbance.<\/p>\n

The TNI must behave and act in professional manner in accordance with Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, the Soldiers\u2019 Oath and the Sapta Marga<\/em> (military code of conduct). Please maintain the unity of the TNI with the people for it can make TNI stronger. Lastly, please always remember the qualities of a warrior. Warriors are the one who never give up, steadfast, loyal, sincere and willing to sacrifice for the glory and progress of the Indonesian people and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.<\/p>\n

That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion. Good luck with your future endeavor. May God help you in carrying out your duties in serving the nation. May God always be with us all.<\/p>\n

Happy anniversary for the Indonesian National Defense Forces. We must remain united and do our best so we can achieve our goals.<\/p>\n
