The Indonesian Government has succeeded in carrying out the mandate of G20 Presidency and has successfully organized the G20 Summit that took place in Bali in November 15-16, 2022.<\/p>\n

According to Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, the Government would follow up the G20 Bali Leaders’ Declaration in detail.<\/p>\n

“Our big work is done, but we need to follow up the details, including cooperation related to inclusive global economic recovery to support Indonesia’s sustainable economic development,” the Minister stated in a joint press statement after attending a limited cabinet meeting on the Evaluation of the G20 Summit Organization, at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday (11\/28).<\/p>\n

Retno went on to say that after holding an event, President Jokowi always orders his Cabinet Ministers to follow up the results of the event.<\/p>\n

“That is the President’s character. After all events are over, we are always billed for follow-ups,” she said.<\/p>\n

To oversee the follow-up, the President has appointed persons in charge of investment, politics, and non-investment and non-politics or broader cooperation.<\/p>\n

“The President said that Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment will specifically follow up investment cooperation, Minister of Foreign Affairs will follow up political-related cooperation, and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs will follow up non-politics and investment cooperation. Once again, just like the G20, this will require teamwork,” she added.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, Retno also mentioned the success of the Indonesian G20 Presidency in producing the G20 Bali Leader’s Declaration as proof of the world’s trust in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

“We also show G20 member states that in the midst of differences, under our leadership we can bridge these differences. Therefore, we can bind the commitment of G20 member states to cooperate despite the difference, as contained in the 52-paragraph declaration,” she added.<\/p>\n

In the declaration, there was also the G20 Annex Action for Strong and Inclusive Recovery which lists the multilateral cooperation of the G20 countries.<\/p>\n

The Minister revealed that the list contains 226 multilateral cooperation projects and 140 bilateral cooperation projects are concrete deliverables from Indonesia’s G20 Presidency.<\/p>\n

“We made an attempt to synergize it with bilateral cooperation, which we call Basket 2. So, Basket 1 is the G20, while Basket 2 is bilateral cooperation with the G20 countries with a total of 140 projects worth around US$71.49 billion,” the Minister remarked.
