President Jokowi hands over 2023 Budget Implementation List (DIPA) to Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Thursday (12\/01). (PR of Cabinet Secretariat\/Rahmat)<\/p><\/div>\n

President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Thursday (12\/01) handed over the Budget Implementation List (DIPA) and Transfer to Regions and Village Funds Allocation List (TKDD) for 2023 Fiscal Year at the State Palace in Jakarta.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi went on to say that the 2023 State Budget is an instrument used by the Government to maintain economic stability amidst global uncertainties.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrand strategy, grand plan that we have prepared must be consistently carried out on the ground. Grand strategy aimed at responding to global economic challenges is represented in the 2023 State Budget,\u201d the President added.<\/p>\n

The Head of State underscored that the 2023 State Budget is drawn up to boost the sustainability of national economic recovery, structural reforms, and serves as social protection instrument for vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n

To that end, he continued, the 2023 State Budget is focused on six points, as follows.<\/p>\n

First<\/em>, strengthening quality of human resources.<\/p>\n

Second<\/em>, accelerating system reformation on social protection by improving social welfare integrated data.<\/p>\n

Third<\/em>, continuing the development of priority infrastructures, especially supporting infrastructures for economic transformation.<\/p>\n

Fourth<\/em>, developing infrastructures to boost new economic centers, including developing the Nusantara New Capital.<\/p>\n

Fifth<\/em>, strengthening industrial revitalization by increasing downstreaming.<\/p>\n

Sixth<\/em>, implementing bureaucratic reforms and simplifying regulations.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, President Jokowi told his administration to strictly monitor the use of the budget so that the people and the state can receive optimal benefit, which also goes hand in hand with priority set by the Government.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I have said many times, optimize spending on local products, especially MSMEs products,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi also reminded his administration to strengthen synergy in carrying out the Government\u2019s programs.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Head of State encouraged his administration to realize the Government\u2019s spending through the State Budget and Regional Budget to boost Indonesia\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI order all of you to immediately realize both the State Budget and Regional Budget, especially capital spending and social spending,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n

Echoing the same sentiment, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani in her report said that the 2023 State Budget was drawn up to maintain optimism, economic recovery and to respond to next year\u2019s global challenges.<\/p>\n

The Minister further said that the state spending in the 2023 State Budget was set at Rp3,061.2 trillion, which was allocated Rp2,246.5 trillion for the Central Government spending and Rp814.7 trillion for TKDD. In addition, the state revenue in the 2023 State Budget was expected to reach Rp2,463.0 trillion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a target that reflects prudence in anticipating uncertainties of commodity prices and tendency of global economic weaking and its impact to Indonesia\u2019s economy. The target will be achieved by carrying out tax reformation and adopting Law on Tax Harmonization to strengthen tax foundation that is fairer and more effective as well as to support sound, sustainable development financing,\u201d Sri Mulyani added.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Sri Mulyani said that the Ministry will continue to improve quality and management of the state spending both at the Central Government and regional government levels in order to achieve the target of fair, even development and social welfare.<\/p>\n

For the record, President Jokowi symbolically handed over the DIPA to 14 Ministries\/Agencies, as follows:<\/p>\n

  3. Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology<\/li>\n
  4. Ministry of Religious Affairs<\/li>\n
  5. Ministry of Defense<\/li>\n
  6. The Indonesian National Police<\/li>\n
  7. Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing<\/li>\n
  8. \u00a0Ministry of the Environment and Forestry<\/li>\n
  9. Ministry of Industry<\/li>\n
  10. Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/li>\n
  11. Ministry of Home Affairs<\/li>\n
  12. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)<\/li>\n
  13. The Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP); and<\/li>\n
  14. The State Administration Agency (LAN)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
