Your Excellency Dato\u2019 Seri Haji Anwar bin Ibrahim,<\/p>\n

Welcome to Indonesia. It is an honor for Indonesia to receive the first state visit from Prime Minister Dato\u2019 Seri Haji Anwar bin Ibrahim. Once again, I want to express my congratulations for the inauguration of Pak Anwar as the 10th<\/sup> Prime Minister of Malaysia. I strongly believe the cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia will be further strengthened under the leadership of Pak Anwar.<\/p>\n

Malaysia is more than Indonesia\u2019s close neighbor but we are also the same kin and have a very strong relationship. In the meeting, I delivered several points of note.<\/p>\n

First, I welcome the interest shown by Malaysian investors in the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN). As many as 11 Letters of Intent (LoI) were signed by Malaysian private sectors and handed over to the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority in electronics, health, waste management, construction, and property sectors. In addition, some MoU in the sectors of shipping, export-import financing, green energy, and battery industry development have also been inked.<\/p>\n

Second, I welcome the commitment from PM Dato\u2019 Seri Haji Anwar bin Ibrahim to protect Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia. I express hope both countries to truly implement One Channel System (OCS) for recruitment and placement of Indonesian migrant workers. I also reminded the importance to build community learning center across Peninsular Malaysia to ensure the rights to education for children of Indonesian workers.<\/p>\n

Third, the issue of borders. We have discussed and agreed to ensure Memorandum of Understanding on land borders of Sebatik and Sinapad Sesai can be inked this year. Agreement on sea borders namely Sulawesi Sea and the southern part of Malaka Strait will also be signed this year.<\/p>\n

Fourth, I truly appreciate Malaysia\u2019s support for FIR (Flight Information Region) Agreement between Indonesia and Singapore. Through this support, the next process at the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) can be continued.<\/p>\n

Fifth, we have agreed to enhance cooperation through Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) to expand palm oil market and fight discrimination against palm oil.<\/p>\n

Sixth, we have agreed to further strengthen ASEAN cooperation. We both agreed that ASEAN should play a central role in realizing a peaceful, prosperous, and stable Indo-Pacific region. Regarding the issue in Myanmar, Indonesia and Malaysia shared similar views on the importance to implement Five Point Consensus. We\u2019ve agreed to urge the Myanmar\u2019s military junta to implement the Five Point Consensus.<\/p>\n

That concludes my statement. I invite Prime Minister Dato\u2019 Seri Haji Anwar bin Ibrahim to deliver his view.<\/p>\n
