President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo, Wednesday (01\/18) introduced \u201cMaung\u201d tactical vehicle at the 2023 Leaders Meeting of the Ministry of Defense in Jakarta.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President also rode the vehicle and went to see an exhibition of the Primary Weaponry Defense System (alutsista).<\/p>\n

The Ministry\u2019s Director General of Defense Planning, Rear Admiral Supo Dwi Diantara said that the exhibition is held to showcase Indonesian defense industry\u2019s prowess to continually develop the production of alutsista.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are 18 alutsista being shown in the exhibition that can be visited by all participants of the Leaders Meeting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

For the record, Maung is a tactical vehicle developed by state-owned weapon manufacturer PT Pindad to support operation and all terrain mobility during close combat. It is the third version of Maung type that fits to be used both for troops\u2019 activities on the ground and operational activity of commanders since it is more compact and agile compared to the previous ones.
