{"id":267296,"date":"2023-01-24T19:31:09","date_gmt":"2023-01-24T12:31:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/?p=267296"},"modified":"2023-01-25T15:33:41","modified_gmt":"2023-01-25T08:33:41","slug":"govt-resumes-river-normalization-to-tackle-jakarta-floods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/en\/govt-resumes-river-normalization-to-tackle-jakarta-floods\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov\u2019t Resumes River Normalization to Tackle Jakarta Floods"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_267199\" style=\"width: 2042px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-267199\" class=\"wp-image-267199 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/DSC_1128-02.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2032\" height=\"1356\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-267199\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">President Jokowi, accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, inspects the Development of Ciliwung river waterway in Jakarta, Tuesday (01\/24) (Photo by: PR of Cabinet Secretariat\/Rahmat)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Tuesday (01\/24) said that floods handling in capital Jakarta must be carried out thoroughly from upstream to downstream.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will be completed soon. <em>Insyaallah <\/em>it will be completed in April [2023],\u201d President Jokowi said in a statement during the inspection of the development of the Ciliwung River Waterway to the East Flood Canal (KBT).<\/p>\n<p>The Government has previously completed the building of the Ciawi dam and the Sukamahi dam, while the development of the Ciliwung River Waterway to the KBT is still in progress.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the project has been postponed for six years due to land acquisition issues, the President expressed optimism that the project would be finished on target.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver 1.5 months, the land has been acquired [by Jakarta provincial government] so the project can be resumed,\u201d President Jokowi said, adding that the waterway will reduce floodwaters by 33 cubic meters per second during the level IV of flood, while during the Level I of flood, it will reduce 63 cubic meters per second.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will reduce floods in Jakarta,\u201d President Jokowi said.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the waterway, the President said that flood handling must also be followed by other measures, including pumps optimalization and rivers normalization all over the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must normalize twelve rivers in Jakarta, including Mookervart, Pesanggrahan, Angke, Cipinang, and other rivers.
