(Photo: PR of Cabinet Secretariat\/Rahmat)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Cabinet Secretariat held a discussion on Best Practices for Drafting and Ratification of International Agreements from the Perspective of the Republic of France at the Building III of the Ministry of State Secretariat on Monday (02\/27) morning. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of France to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant to the Deputy Cabinet Secretary for International Relations, Deputy to the Cabinet Secretary for Political, Law, and Security Affairs, Johar Arifin mentioned that the discussion was one of the efforts to evaluate the policies and provisions set forth in the Law No. 24 of 2000 on International Agreement.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope that the discussion will be an opportunity for us to learn the perspectives of the French Government on the challenges and opportunities, and internal process and procedures related to the drafting and ratification of international agreement,\u201d Johar said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Johar, international agreement is an important component of the global community\u2019s efforts to achieve peace, prosperity, and progress. It can help in establishing and regulating interactions among countries, and furthermore, it also facilitates cooperation and collaboration across borders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrance, as the main power of Europe, has a long history, vast experience, and has played an important role to establish and support international agreements that promote shared interests and values,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>At bilateral level, Indonesia and France have a very good relation based on common interests in various sectors, such as economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and international security. He believes that the relationship will be deeper and wider in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI also hope that the discussion will be our foundation to get involve in a constructive and productive dialogue and to to cooperate in strengthening our common goals in the future,\u201d he affirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, Johar hopes that through the discussion, both countries can strengthen the well-established cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion was attended by two representatives of the Embassy of France Adrien Bunel and Pierre-Jean Cusset who explained to the participants on drafting international agreements in French Constitution; the authority of the French President and Parliament in the process of drafting and ratification of international agreements; negotiation process of international agreements conducted by French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other ministries\/institutions; and international agreements ratified at the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>The hybrid meeting was attended by 50 participants from Cabinet Secretariat\u2019s Deputies. <strong>(TGH\/UN)<\/strong><strong>(FKH\/AW\/HD\/LW)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cabinet Secretariat held a discussion on Best Practices for Drafting and Ratification of International Agreements from the Perspective of the Republic of France at the Building III of the Ministry of State Secretariat on Monday (02\/27) morning.
