The Government has announced it is finalizing several options to manage non-civil state apparatus (non-ASN) or non-tenure government employees.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are preparing the best option to manage the non-ASN issues. On one hand, the function of non-ASN is incredible, but on the other hand, many of their recruitments did not meet our expectations, including those in regional and central governments,\u201d Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms Abdullah Azwar Anas said following a plenary cabinet meeting led by President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo at the State Palace, Thursday (03\/02).<\/p>\n

Anas added that his Ministry has discussed and continues discussing solutions with several stakeholders, including the House of Representatives (DPR), Regional Representatives Council (DPD), the Association of Indonesian Regency Governments (Apkasi), the Association of Indonesian City Governments (Apeksi), the Association of Indonesian Provincial Governments (APPSI), the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), and representatives of non-ASN.<\/p>\n

\u201cFactually, non-ASN employees play a role in public service. They are very helpful in providing public service such as education, healthcare, and other kinds of public service,\u201d he said, while expressing hope that the solution will be agreed shortly and will be accepted by everyone.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do have several options, including to promote then as civil state apparatus (ASN) based on a priority scale and to promote all of them, but this option can impose significant fiscal burden and several other options,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In addition to non-ASN employee management, Anas also underscored the importance of equal distribution of ASN across Indonesia.<\/p>\n
