President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Monday (3\/20) presented award to several parties who have contributed and worked hard in the efforts to handle COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, President Jokowi stated that Indonesia has been praised as one of the best in the world as the country which has successfully handled COVID-19 pandemic while able maintained economic stability, growth during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

“In June 2022, Director General of WHO Tedros Adhanom said that Indonesia’s COVID-19 handling was among the best and its vaccination coverage was also among the best in the world. The one who said it was not us, it was Director General of WHO. Even. in September 2021, Johns Hopkins University also recorded that Indonesia as one of the best in the world in reducing COVID-19 cases,” the President said at Ministry of Finance\u2019s Dhanapala building in Jakarta.<\/p>\n

According to the Head of State, thanks to the collaboration of all elements of the nation including the Central Government, regional governments, administrations at village level, health workers, the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (POLRI), private sectors, community organizations, academics, and all people, COVID-19 can be successfully handled.<\/p>\n

“I noticed that all of us, from A to Z, have done hard work to handle COVID-19 pandemic. And many parties have been working at the risk of their lives. Many health workers have died handling the pandemic, many have gone beyond their duties and functions, the TNI and POLRI also have done beyond their duties and functions, many have become volunteers for our safety, and many lessons can be learned during COVID-19 pandemic,” President Jokowi added.<\/p>\n

The President further said that the success of COVID-19 pandemic handling in Indonesia represents that Indonesia has tremendous strength as a great nation, while underscoring that the strength can not only be used for all of the nation’s major agendas but also for handling other diseases including tuberculosis, stunting, as well as for increasing food production, and reducing poverty rates.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, President Jokowi also expressed his gratitude for all recipients who have received the PPKM award.<\/p>\n

For the record, there are 16 categories of the PPKM Award. They are as follows.<\/p>\n

  9. Best International Organizations Supporting the Indonesian Government in Pandemic Handling<\/li>\n
