Indonesia is open to investment and cooperation in developing downstream industry and green economy, according to Indonesian President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndonesia boasts enormous potential, reflected in the projected investment value in the country’s downstream roadmap that reaches US$545.3 billion,\u201d the President said in his statement during the opening ceremony of Hannover Messe 2023 at Hannover Congress Centrum, Germany, Sunday (04\/16).<\/p>\n

“Until 2040, there will be 21 commodities in the downstream roadmap projected to attract an investment of US$545.3 billion,” the President added.<\/p>\n

The President also reiterated Indonesia’s commitment to maintaining environmental sustainability by taking several measures to preserve the environment and to implement energy transition.<\/p>\n

“The deforestation rate has decreased significantly and reached the lowest level in the last 20 years, while forest fire rate has decreased by 88 percent. Rehabilitation of 600,000 hectares of mangrove forests, the largest in the world, will be completed in 2024, while 30,000 hectares of green industrial areas will be built,” the President said, adding that Indonesia is currently targeting 23 percent of the energy sources produced from new and renewable energy in 2025 and is planning to close all coal-fired power plants in 2050.<\/p>\n

“Indonesia also aims to ensure that the energy transition produces affordable energy for our people,” the President remarked.<\/p>\n

For the third time, Indonesia is selected as an official partner country at Hannover Messe 2023, which is the world’s largest exhibition for industrial technology. The exhibition will be held from April 17\u201321, 2023.<\/p>\n

Indonesia will present the National Pavilion Zone with 157 Indonesian co-exhibitors, by the sub-themes Engineered Parts and Solutions, Future Hub, Sustainability and Energy Transition, Global Business and Markets, Compressed Air and Vacuum, Digital Ecosystems, Drive Technology and Automation, and Motion and Drives.<\/p>\n

The Southeast Asian nation will also highlight the development of Industrial Zones and Special Economic Zones (KEK) progress, the concept of developing the National Capital City (IKN), investment policies, inclusive sustainability and energy transition, start-up businesses and technology development, as well as support for the circular economy.
