On the first day of the 42nd<\/sup> ASEAN Summit, President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Wednesday (05\/10) opened the ASEAN Leaders\u2019 Interface with Representatives of ASEAN Youth at Meruorah Hotel, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara province.<\/p>\n

\u201cASEAN youth will play an important role to play in the sustainability of Southeast Asia as a stable and peaceful region, as well as in becoming the Epicenter of Growth,\u201d President Jokowi said.<\/p>\n

According to the President, above global average economic growth and regional stability can be ASEAN\u2019s strength to achieve the goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd since 34 percent of the ASEAN population are youth. Therefore, the younger generation of ASEAN needs to formulate the best measures to capitalize on such potentials,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The Head of State also expressed delight at the opportunity to meet members of the ASEAN Youth.<\/p>\n
