President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo ensures that Indonesia is the best partner to invest in South-East Asia region. President Jokowi highlighted a number of high-potential priority sectors for investors to invest in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndonesia has a high potential as a destination for investors considering its natural resources, demographic bonus, big market, and a maintained economic and political stability,\u201d the President said during the meeting with Australian CEOs at Cambridge Meeting Room, Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, on Tuesday (07\/04).<\/p>\n

The first priority sector is downstream industry sector. President Jokowi mentioned that Indonesia and Australia have a big potential to integrate in developing electric car battery industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndonesia has targeted to start EV battery production next year, and to produce 1 million electric cars and 3.2 million electric motor cycle in 2023,\u201d he elaborated.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Head of State also mentioned that Indonesia has a great potential in green energy sector. Indonesia has a big potential of 434 gigawatt in renewable new energy sector from wind, water, geothermal, biofuel, and solar energies.<\/p>\n

\u201c(Currently) we are establishing 30 thousand hectares green industrial park,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, President Jokowi explained that currently Nusantara Capital (IKN) with a forest and nature-based smart city concept is under construction. According to him, a number of sectors in IKN make investment opportunities available for investors.<\/p>\n

\u201cInvestment value of USD25 billion gives ample opportunity in sectors such as education, health, and energy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Lastly, President Jokowi also ensured that the education and health sectors have enormous potential for investors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe number of college students increases around 20 percent per year. Almost 2 million Indonesian people prefer to have medical treatment overseas. It is a huge opportunity for investors in these sectors,\u201d President Jokowi remarked.
