Cabinet Secretariat and the National Library signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve library management and services, Friday (07\/07) at the National Library in Jakarta.<\/p>\n

The MoU was signed by Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Administrative Affairs Farid Utomo and Principal Secretary of the National Library Ofi Sofiana.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis MoU will serve as a basis and guide for us to support the improvement of library management and services by taking into account the duties and functions of both Cabinet Secretariat and the National Library,\u201d Farid said following the signing.<\/p>\n

This MoU covers the development of library materials, human resources, and information technology.<\/p>\n

\u201c[It covers] cooperation for human resources improvement and enhancement of electronic library system implementation. There are so many things that can be followed up from this cooperation,\u201d Farid said while reaffirming the commitment of Cabinet Secretariat to improving inclusivity of access to books for the public through its library.<\/p>\n

The signing of this MoU coincided with the launching of the pioneer of National Library establishment Mastini Hardjoprakoso\u2019s book titled \u201cMemorial for Laying the Foundation of the National Library of Indonesia\u201d.<\/p>\n
