President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Friday (07\/28) affirmed Indonesia\u2019s commitment to developing chemical and energy industries.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndonesia is committed to developing chemical and energy industries in Indonesia, especially in North Kalimantan,\u201d President Jokowi said during a meeting with leaders of Chinese companies at Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu, People\u2019s Republic of China (PRC).<\/p>\n

President Jokowi further said that the Indonesian Government has issued regulations on national industrial policies to achieve a green economy. \u201c(The regulation) contains development targets as well as the utilization, supply, and distribution of oil and gas and coal-based chemicals,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

In addition, the President appreciated the investment made by Chinese companies in developing industrial estates in Indonesia, including in the construction of a petrochemical refinery in Kalimantan.<\/p>\n

The Head of State also expressed hope that the attendees would play a role in chemical industry development in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
