To reduce logistics costs and boost competitiveness of Indonesian products, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (MPWPH) and the Toll Road Business Entity (TRBE) have gradually completed the construction of the Trans Sumatra toll road.<\/p>\n

As of July 2023, six sections of the 596-kilometer Trans Sumatra toll road have been fully operational and other seven sections of the 361-kilometers toll road are still under construction.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe toll roads will also boost the growth of new economic hubs, especially around the on\/off ramps,\u201d Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono said as quoted from the Ministry\u2019s website, Monday (07\/31).<\/p>\n

According to the Minister, the Trans Sumatra toll road has a total length of 2,749 kilometers with 24 sections, consisting of the main corridor of 1,889 kilometers and the supporting corridor of 860 kilometers.<\/p>\n

President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Thursday (07\/20) inaugurated the 16.7 kilometer Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung toll road which is the part of the Trans Sumatra. The toll road, which was built with a budget of Rp4.8 trillion, is part of the supporting corridor on the 95.8-kilometers Bengkulu to Lubuk Linggau section.<\/p>\n

The 361-kilometer toll roads that are under construction are as follows:<\/p>\n

– The 48-kilometer Indrapura-Kisaran section (85.5 percent) is set to be completed in this year.<\/p>\n

– The 93-kilometer Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi section (84.26) percent is set to be completed by the end of this year.<\/p>\n

– The 64-kilometer Indralaya-Prabumulih Intersection is set to be operational in the near future.<\/p>\n

– Two sections of Pekanbaru-Padang section: the 24-kilometer Bangkinang-Koto Kampar section (74.8 percent) and the 37-kilometer Padang-Sicincin section (32.6 percent). Previously, the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang section has gone operational for 31 kilometers.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The 58-kilometer Binjai-Pangkalan Brandan section (79.9 percent). Previously, the Binjai-Stabat section has gone operational for 12 kilometers.<\/p>\n
