President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Monday (08\/28) inaugurated the Integrated Light Rail Transit (LRT) covering the greater Jakarta (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Bekasi) area at Cawang LRT Station, Jakarta.<\/p>\n

In commemoration of the 78th <\/sup>Anniversary of the Independence of Indonesia as well as to introduce the LRT to the public, the Government has also offered promotional fare for the passengers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope that the promotional fare will encourage the public to switch from using private vehicles to mass transportation,\u201d Ministry of Transportation\u2019s spokesperson Adita Irawati said as quoted from the Ministry\u2019s official website, Monday (08\/28).<\/p>\n

In addition to the promotional flat rate of Rp5,000 until the end of September, Adita continued, the Government will then set maximum tariff of Rp20,000 for the farthest distance and less than Rp20,000 for other than the farthest distance. This fare scheme will start from October this year to the end of February 2024.<\/p>\n

According to Adita, the promotional rate uses subsidies from the Government using the public service obligation (PSO) scheme. \u201cThe Rp66 billion PSO will be used to provide subsidized fare from the start of operations until the end of this year. This amount excludes subsidies for infrastructure,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

For the record, the greater Jakarta LRT fare has been stipulated in Decree of Minister of Transportation Number KM 67 of 2023 on Fare for Transportation of People by Integrated Light Rail Transit in the Areas of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Bekasi to Implement Public Service Obligations. Based on the decree, the basic fare for the greater Jakarta LRT is set at Rp5,000 for the first kilometer and Rp700 per kilometer afterwards.<\/p>\n

The Government provides PSO subsidies by financing the difference in fare proposed by the operator of greater Jakarta LRT so it is more affordable for the public. The stipulated fare has been reviewed by an independent team from Polar UI (University of Indonesia\u2019s Center for Testing, Measurement, Observation, and Modelling) and PwC (Pricewaterhouse Coopers) as well as the operator of LRT and Ministry of Transportation.<\/p>\n

The greater Jakarta LRT has two routes, namely Cibubur line with twelve stops and Bekasi line with fourteen stops.<\/p>\n

The Cibubur line consists of the following stations:<\/p>\n

  2. Setiabudi LRT Station<\/li>\n
  3. Rasuna Said LRT Station<\/li>\n
  4. Kuningan LRT Station<\/li>\n

  6. Cikoko LRT Station<\/li>\n
  7. Ciliwung LRT Station<\/li>\n
  8. Cawang LRT Station<\/li>\n
  9. TMII LRT Station<\/li>\n
  10. Kampung Rambutan LRT Station<\/li>\n
  11. Ciracas LRT Station<\/li>\n
  12. Harjamukti LRT Station<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Bekasi line consists of the following stations:<\/p>\n
