President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Friday (09\/01) inaugurated the revitalization of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), a miniature park that exhibits the country\u2019s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

The President expressed hope that with its new appearance, TMII can be an icon of Indonesia\u2019s tourism.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am sure that with its new appearance, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah will be a great tourism icon in Jakarta and certainly in Indonesia,\u201d he said, adding that the revitalization uses the concept of green open space.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the afternoon, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah can be cooler because the concept has been restored in accordance with its initial masterplan, consisting of 70 percent of green open space and 30 percent of building,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the President pointed out that all museum buildings and pavilions in TMII have been improved and revitalized with an inclusive and smart building concept and by emphasizing culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe public can now visit and enjoy the new Taman Mini Indonesia Indah that is more neatly arranged, greener, more beautiful, and more comfortable,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, Minister of State-owned Enterprises (SOE) Erick Thohir in his remarks stated that the revitalization of TMII is a collaboration of three ministries, namely Ministry of State Secretariat, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, and Ministry of SOE.<\/p>\n

\u201cMinister of State Secretary, Mr. Pratikno, at that time assigned us both, Mr. Basuki, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, and me, Minister of SOE, to renovate Taman Mini Indonesia Indah that has historical meaning to Indonesia,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Erick pointed out that the renovation has been carried out since January 2022 and used a budget of approximately Rp1.070 billion from Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing and a budget of Rp200 billion from state-owned aviation industry and tourism holding company Injourney for beautification and other purposes.<\/p>\n

On a separate occasion, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno stated that TMII is prepared as one of the locations of the 43rd<\/sup> ASEAN Summit meeting series.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be a spouse program for spouses of heads of states or governments, which will be held in the afternoon of September 6,\u201d he said on Tuesday (08\/29) in Jakarta, adding that the spouse program is slated to take place at the cultural stage facing TMII\u2019s Lake Archipelago where the delegates and tourists can see miniatures of islands in the country, from Sumatra to Papua.<\/p>\n

For the record, the lake lights up at night, reflecting light from red-white lamps. The attraction is enlivened with a dancing fountain that presents an advanced light show, which takes place every night near the lake and island miniature.<\/p>\n
