The Government Friday (09\/08) announced that Indonesia has identified cooperation projects of USD32 billion or approximately Rp490.59 trillion through business matching carried out during the ASEAN-Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF). <\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to hosting the AIPF as the flagship event of the 43rd<\/sup> ASEAN Summit, Indonesia also seeks cooperation for projects from other countries with a total value of USD810 million or about Rp12.4 trillion.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Although the result is not yet realized during today’s meeting, it is our hope that the business matching will enhance cooperation and a true understanding of the investment needs expected by each country,” Deputy Foreign Minister Pahala Mansury said in Jakarta.<\/span><\/p>\n

The business sectors promoted through AIPF including the development of renewable energy, hydrogen, ammonia, alumina refineries, battery supply chains, as well as toll road and port infrastructure, considering that Indonesia is currently focusing on international cooperation for strategic projects in the fields of energy and oil and gas (five projects), toll roads (nine projects), ports (five projects), health (six projects), fertilizers (three projects), infrastructure (ten projects), tourism (nine projects), as well as the electric vehicle battery ecosystem and supply chain (three projects).<\/span><\/p>\n

Echoing the sentiment, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rosan Roeslani said that the sectors that have attracted the most investor are green energy and the electric vehicle battery ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Many of them are also interested in investing in the digitization sector considering that a lot of potential in our population that has not yet been reached by formal financing,” Rosan added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, several ASEAN countries including Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines also presented their potential projects in the telecommunications and infrastructure sectors.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the record, the AIPF\u2019s business matching were attended by around 185 domestic and international investors. Domestic investors were including state-owned bank PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, region-owned PT Bank Jawa Barat, toll road operator PT Astra Infra, copper and gold mining company PT Amman Mineral, as well as energy and mining contractor PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa, while international investors were including renewable energy developer ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia), global energy producer EDF Energy (France), construction enterprise China Railway Construction Corporation, as well as engineering company Siemens (Germany). <\/span><\/p>\n

During the event held on September 5-6, 2023, the AIPF\u2019s business matching was not only attended by ASEAN leaders, but also others country leaders including Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese, and Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau. <\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, Pahala said that all country leaders underscored that future priorities for strategic partnerships with ASEAN will focus on sustainable cooperation sectors, including clean energy development, innovative and sustainable financing, and green infrastructure development.
