President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Wednesday (09\/13) inaugurated Vice Admiral Irvansyah as the Chief of the Maritime Security Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (Bakamla RI) at the State Palace in Jakarta.<\/p>\n

The inauguration is based on Decree of President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 118\/TPA of 2023 on Dismissal from and Appointment for Principal High-Ranking Position in the Maritime Security Agency of the Republic of Indonesia signed on September 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do solemnly swear that I will be faithful to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and enforce all laws and regulations in the fairest way possible for my service to the nation and the state, that in carrying out my duties, I will uphold professional code of conduct, work to the best of my ability with a full sense of responsibility,\u201d the President said, dictating the oath of office to Irvansyah.<\/p>\n

For the record, Irvansyah was inaugurated as the Chief of the Maritime Security Agency to succeed his predecessor Vice Admiral Aan Kurnia who has recently retired.<\/p>\n

In his press statement following the inauguration, Irvansyah stated that in line with the President\u2019s directives, he will improve cooperation among all stakeholders in maintaining maritime security.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President reminded me through the Cabinet Secretary to work together with other institutions, with ministries and other Government agencies. The point is to unite with other institutions and ministries as well as the Indonesian National Defense Forces. We must work together. Indeed, to manage maritime affairs, we cannot work alone.
