President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Tuesday (09\/19) inspected the prices and supply of a number of food commodities at Jatinegara traditional market, East Jakarta.<\/p>\n

The President said that the prices of various food commodities are still stable.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe prices are quite good, the prices of shallots and garlic have declined, only rice that is still high,\u201d said the President.<\/p>\n

According to him, the Government had made a number of efforts to reduce the price of rice on the market, including carrying out market, retail and wholesale operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully in around two or three weeks, the price will start to drop a little,” said the President, adding that the national rice supply is currently sufficient. The Government has 2 million tons of rice stock, of which 1.6 million tons of rice are already in Indonesia and another 400,000 tons of rice are still on the way.<\/p>\n
