In a bid to improve national integrity and the quality of the people\u2019s life, President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo Monday (09\/25) signed Presidential Regulation Number 58 of 2023 on Strengthening Religious Moderation.<\/p>\n

The regulation notes that diversity of religions and beliefs is God\u2019s gift to Indonesia which serves as the foundation of the behavior of the people and the country and occupies an important and strategic position in the life of the people and the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis Presidential Regulation is intended as a guideline for the Central Government, regional governments, and religious communities in order to strengthen religious moderation,\u201d Article 2 of the regulation reads.<\/p>\n

The regulation further states that strengthening religious moderation is carried out to strengthen religious viewpoints, attitudes, and practices in a moderate manner to strengthen brotherhood and togetherness among religious communities; strengthening religious harmony and communion; harmonization of religious and cultural relations; improving the quality of religious life services; as well as developing the community\u2019s economy and religious resources.<\/p>\n

\u201cStrengthening religious moderation is carried out by the Central Government and regional governments in a planned, systematic, coordinative, collaborative, and sustainable manner,\u201d the regulation reads.<\/p>\n
