President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo opens the 2023 National Working Conference of Indonesian Civil Servants Corps (Korpri), Jakarta, Tuesday (10\/03).<\/p><\/div>\n

A total of 4.4. million members of the Indonesian Civil Servants Corps (Korpri) play a crucial role in determining the nation’s progress, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.<\/p>\n

“We may have many political parties, but it’s Korpri that carries out and decides on government matters,” the President said at the opening of the 2023 National Working Conference of Indonesian Civil Servants Corp (Korpri), at Mercure Hotel, Ancol, Jakarta, Tuesday (10\/03).<\/p>\n

According to the President, bureaucracy should function like a powerful and adaptable engine for the Government, capable of responding to global changes and challenges.<\/p>\n

“An engine that can withstand the heat, maintain its cool, and exhibit resilience, especially in a world that’s changing almost every day,” he said.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President highlighted the Government’s focus on Indonesia-centric development to achieve economic equality in communities.<\/p>\n

Currently, he said, the Indonesian economy is primarily concentrated on the island of Java, contributing 58 percent to the national gross domestic product.<\/p>\n

“We need Indonesia-centric instead of Java-centric. We need equality. In Jakarta, there is a high population density, leading to complex issues. This is because Jakarta is the hub for businesses, the economy, education, tourism, and essentially, everything is centered here,” he stressed.<\/p>\n

The development of the Nusantara Capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan is considered the Government’s effort to encourage equality.<\/p>\n

The President pointed out that the Government has prepared various facilities and incentives for state civil servants (ASN) who would become residents of the IKN.<\/p>\n

“This represents a new future, and various incentives have been put in place. Without these incentives, it can be quite challenging, but with them, the situation changes. We offer official residences, houses with land, and apartments. We also cover moving costs for both spouses and children, provide substantial allowances, and offer other facilities,” the President remarked.
