President Joko \u201cJokowi\u201d Widodo held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of the People\u2019s Republic of China Li Qiang at the Diaoyutai State House, Beijing, China, on Tuesday (10\/17).<\/p>\n

During the meeting, President Jokowi expressed appreciation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Indonesia and China which has developed very well in the last ten years.<\/p>\n

“China is Indonesia’s largest trading partner and Indonesia’s second largest investor,” the President said.<\/p>\n

For this reason, the President underlined that cooperation between the two countries can help strengthen regional and international cooperation with peace and stability being the main keys.<\/p>\n

Apart from that, he also addressed a number of Indonesia-China collaborations in several fields, including investment and infrastructure, one of which is in the Indonesia\u2019s new capital city of Nusantara.<\/p>\n

\u201cI appreciate the design planning collaboration between the Nusantara Capital Authority and Shenzhen, as well as the interest of the Chinese private sector in the housing and health sectors in the Nusantara capital,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, President Jokowi asked for PM Li Qiang’s support to accelerate the realization of Chinese investment in the new capital. Apart from that, he also asked for support for the plan to sign an MoU for the development of a green industrial area in North Kalimantan as well as the realization of wind and solar power projects.<\/p>\n

In the field of trade, the President told PM Li Qiang to also support expanding access to food for Indonesian agricultural and fishery products in China.<\/p>\n
